Grid Inspired Type Design

In 2015 when I undertook a 100 day project and created a new unique grid pattern every day for 100 consecutive days, I never thought that one year later (almost to the day) I'd be running a Kickstarter campaign to produce an initial 50 unit run of all 100 grids as 36 page sketchbooks.

Introduction to Calligraphy

I am writing this article with the intention of clarifying a few things about calligraphy, and to hopefully shed some light on misunderstandings about this beautiful art form. In my opinion, calligraphy suffers from an image problem. I find that people associate it with older people writing religious texts and with wedding invitations! But calligraphy is much more than that.
