Client Spotlight - Reiki Master & Yoga Teacher Joanna Tolley
Joanna Tolley is a Reiki Master & Yoga Teacher. She took the leap from working in corporate to starting her own business this year, and I supported her in getting it off the ground and running. I’m so proud of what she was able to achieve in just a short 3 months of working together, and can’t wait to see where her business journey takes her next!

How did you feel before our work together?
I felt like I had no clarity or real idea of what my business was going to look like. I thought ‘I guess I'll work for myself as a Reiki practitioner’, but it felt very vague. I was also getting frustrated working with Wordpress and wasted a lot of time on that. I was lost and didn't know where to begin.
How do you feel about yourself and your business now?
I feel a lot more at ease and spend less time overthinking. I now have a solid foundation to work from, and know what my next steps are. I have not only gained more clarity and self-awareness, but I have a real sense of confidence around how I present myself. I enjoyed the branding work the most - it made everything so clear and helped me to see what my brand was going to look like both on- and offline. I get feedback from clients saying that my website looks so professional and inviting.
As part of my brand strategy offering, we explored Joanna’s personality using Human Design, the Enneagram, and brand archetypes. Her branding emerged in a highly collaborative process, with elements she was naturally drawn to. We landed on colours and textures that were already in her wardrobe and home. With a clear understanding of who she is and what her brand values are, Joanna wrote all her website copy herself and worked with illustrator Tobias Townsend to create her beautiful logo.
What was it like to work with me?
I felt supported; your communication was very timely and efficient. I loved how you were willing to adapt and explore options with me - you really tailored your approach rather than sticking to a standard procedure. There was no pressure: just options and suggestions, which suited me perfectly. Your approach allowed me freedom and didn't feel too prescriptive. You were creative in the things you were suggesting too!
What else was valuable?
Switching to Squarespace to build my website was life-changing. It’s so quick and easy to work with - and I'm not the most technologically savvy person! If I was still working with Wordpress, I'd feel overwhelmed and be putting things off, whereas now I feel confident that I can update my content whenever and however my business evolves. It's so user friendly and takes a huge element of stress away. I also really enjoyed the personality assessments. I found it super interesting to work with multiple systems - noticing the different perspectives, crossovers, and the way they can all work together to create broader and deeper insight. This process has given me a better understanding of my relationship to routine, stress, and time management.
What was your proudest moment?
I had my first real Reiki client within 3 days of launching my website - and by ‘real’ client I mean someone who is not a friend and who paid full price! He gave amazing feedback too and found that the session far exceeded his expectations.
